Now, we’re rolling out a suite of new privacy solutions, including Email Protection, App Tracking Protection and our first-ever Desktop Apps for Mac and Windows.

We’re looking for a Senior Business Development Manager to help shape our all-in-one privacy solution and join our mission to show the world that protecting your privacy online can be simple.

The Opportunity

In this role, you will:

  • Lead projects from proposal through postmortem, assessing vague problems, proposing high impact solutions, and executing them against a set of success criteria.
  • Initiate, negotiate and close complex deals with little oversight.
  • Explore and secure partnerships with mobile operators, OEMs and related companies, as well as deals in support of future products in development.
  • Manage relationships with existing partners and pursue opportunities to expand partnerships.
  • Contribute to strategy development, and identify, scope and pursue business development opportunities.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (product, engineering, design, etc) to support objective needs and execute on partner integrations.
  • Coordinate with internal and external legal resources to structure and close business deals.
  • Participate in events, conferences and PR functions when deemed of value.
  • Analyze partner performance metrics, in combination with market metrics and other public data, to recommend actionable opportunities.

What You Will Bring to DuckDuckGo

    • 8+ years of experience in partnerships and business development.
    • 5+ years of experience in consumer internet partnerships.
    • Bonus if you have experience in at least one of the following: building partnerships with mobile partners or working for mobile operators, OEMs, or with mobile applications distribution.
    • Proven success in similar roles, developing business opportunities, leading, structuring and closing high complexity deals.
    • Ability to negotiate complex partnerships including drafting term sheets and contract language.
    • Ability to navigate complicated business org structures, identifying and reaching decision-makers, crafting proposals and driving successful outcomes.
    • Comfort working in a tech-forward environment and basic understanding of web technologies.
    • Familiarity with search, digital advertising or e-commerce landscapes, with strong awareness of established and disruptive brands.
    • Focused critical thinking and problem-solving skills, devising improvements to processes and contributing to strategy at the project and objective level.
    • Ability to work with partners in North America and Europe.

    Annual compensation: $176,667 USD and stock options.

    • Sometimes we meet up! Expect to travel at least two times a year: once for our all-hands meetup and again for a team retreat (each around 4-5 days). Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, attendance is optional and you can choose not to meet up in person if that's your preference.
    • While we offer a flexible work arrangement with no core hours, expect an average full-time commitment of 40 hours per week.
